Cask No. 3.198 Peated

Smoker's tooth powder & dentist's chairs

sold out

Mineral notes ornamented the nose – coal, slate roofs and gravel – also tarry driftwood on beach bonfires, lavender perfumed smoke, sticky barbecued ribs and lobster; lime leaves, burnt toffee and sherry. A similar palate profile offered honeyed chicken wings, big toffee, decent smoke, coal, ash and wood but now minty notes also appeared (mint toffee, mint tea, toothpaste). The reduced nose suggested black olives, balsamic vinegar, new car interiors, smoker’s tooth powder and a dentist’s chair. The palate returned to the slightly burnt barbeque thing, toasted bread, hot leather and an ashy, mouth-drying effect. From Islay’s oldest and most central distillery.
