The nose was a delightful mix of different things. Juicy fruit salad chunks, bubble-gum and winter herbs along with more beer-like hop notes, copper pans and the impression of sushi rice, umami nori seaweed and salmon sashimi with ginger. With water we got leather driving gloves, limoncello, herby focaccia, sweet olive oil and flower honey.
The palate opened with milk bottle sweets, coconut milk, Thai basil, sugary porridge, robust maltiness and wee notes of star fruit and burlap. With water we found a shift towards dried herbs, stuffed vine leaves, duck ham, mossy earthiness and white mushrooms. Big, complex and impressive!
