Bottled exclusively for SMWS Canada in celebration of Canada Day 2023.

We were transported back in time as we sat in the den listening to The Tragically Hip, the door open, and the aroma of making marmalade and jute mixed with spiced rum and a hearty ale filling the air. We mixed a Hanky Panky, a fancy cocktail more likely offered in the Empress Hotel, of gin, sweet vermouth and fernet, and garnished with an orange twist.

Water added a steak and red onion pie with sautéed potatoes and, for dessert, we had a coffee and walnut cake in a chestnut sauce. Following 11 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a 1st fill Spanish oak oloroso hogshead.
