The nose had sweet freshness (elderflower, apple strudel, white jelly babies) with a tantalizing feminine feeling – powder puff and heather-scented soap. Further interest came from malt loaf, tobacco leaf, soft leather, marmalade, toffee and aromatic duck. On the palate we caught intense fruity sweetness, spices and perfumes – people mentioned spiced apple chutney, poached pears, Greek yoghurt with honey, star anise, ginger, clove and flower stems. The reduced nose picked up the sophisticated, delicate threads of dewberry (Body Shop) geranium, pot-pourri, apple and scented candles. The palate now balanced toffee with sandalwood, blackcurrant and flowers. Another gem from the Marypark maestros.
