We all sat down for high tea and admired the wonderful spread which was presented in front of us; Madeira sponge cake, banana loaf, honey butter sandwich and cream cheese stuffed French toast served with a cup of Earl Grey tea. The taste was that of spicy ginger cookies, Jaffa cakes and mint chocolates as well as homemade granola with red berry compote. With water, sweeter notes of candied lemon and ginger appeared and the tea, now a Lady Grey, became slightly more perfumed with a touch of lavender whilst on the palate some chose a honey, lemon and ginger tea.
